The Museum of London tells the story of the capital from its first settlers to modern times.
London is one of the most widely represented cities in literature in the world. It has been imagined by so many writers in so many different ways — apocalyptic, satirical, dystopian, hopeful. This exhibition explores all the stories that talk about London, from H. G. Wells’s techno-utopian visions in 1899 to modern day fiction like J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter.
Museum of London, until April 22nd 2018
This small display explores alternative currencies past and present – from 17th century trade tokens to today’s Brixton Pound – and asks what they might offer to future Londoners.
Museum of London, until January 21st 2018.
